Fundarte, oftewel de Fundacion Arubano di Arte, is opgericht ter verspreiding van de Arubaanse cultuur. De stichting, onder voorzitterschap van Leo Tromp, legt zich ook toe op theatereducatie. In 1999 wordt Leo Tromp tijdens de wereld theater conferentie in Maruecos verkozen tot vice voorzitter van de IATA. Fundarte organiseert in 2000 zijn eerste internationale festival: XII Festival Internacional di Teatro Aruba - FITA 2000. In 2011 zijn eerste internationale Festival voor Kindertheater.
